You don't necessarily have to go to the sites featured in its archives (you'd need a strong stomach or be very resistant to stupidity to survive those babies), just know how things flow in its forums and news site. Once you get a handle of the zany cynicism/sarcasm and high context arguments of the regulars you should be able to develop some thick skin and learn not to take petty namecalling (i.e. YUO = FAG), casual swearing, or the internet itself too seriously.
