What game am I playing while I'm typing right now? Nothing, otherwise I wouldn't be able to type. What game am I playing these days? Hundreds. I'm not sure I understand the idea behind this thread.

I'm not nitpicking, I'm trying to understand the thread. Maybe I'm just the rare sort who plays more games than the average person.

The latest game I played was Medal of Honor: Frontline.
But also today, I played Metroid Fusion and Gunsmoke. It's been a quiet day.

On a daily basis I play between 5 and 20 games.

I played this a while ago, but I love it.

Minority Report: Everybody Runs.

A reviewer gave it a bad review because he said it didn't have the same feel that the movie did. I hate it when people do that.

First thing you need to do to enjoy the game is forget that it's Minority Report. The character has a completely different look (he's blond, for instance) and the story is much much different. I think the game was either based on the original screenplay draft before changing it or casting Tom Cruise . . . or it was based on the book. And it probably doesn't follow either very strictly, as books or movies don't make good games without a little tweaking.

Second, you need to get over the fact that the laws of physics do not apply! When you uppercut guys, they go flying like in mortal kombat. And because the story relies a lot on the fact that no one ever gets killed, you have to assume that the guys you hit with explosives, or throw out of a thirty-storey window only get knocked unconscious.

Then get ready to have the most fun you will ever have with a game. It's a beat-'em-up game like Double Dragon, by the makers of the Spider-man movie game.
If you played Spider-man you know what to expect in the way of fighting, but they improved upon it so much it's insane.
Like Spider-Man you have combos, except in this case John Anderton is a martial artist. Pause the game to look at his various combos, learn how to use them, and soon enough you'll have action scenes that rival movies.
And *everything* is smashable. Do you have any idea how much fun it is to smash things? It's rather boring to just run around and break things by yourself, but that's not the only way. If you knock a guy onto a table, it collapses. If you throw a guy through a window, he smashes through and loses a lot of health. If it's more than a floor downward you can assume you've beaten them.
Even when the bad guys run out of health and are lying there on the floor, you can still kick them around, or pick them up and throw them. Throwing guys at other enemies also has advantages. It doesn't damage them much, but it knocks them over and gives you a little room to breathe.
And then there's some other simple moves that are fun. If you duck and hit the kick button, your character does a sweep kick that can knock guys over (really helpful) or if you run, then hit the duck and kick buttons, you can do a sliding kick, which is more effective because it's harder for your enemies to avoid. And if you spin the analog stick in a circle while hitting the kick button, John does a jumping spin kick. Some of the later enemies can avoid this really easily, but a lot of guys can still get caught off guard and it flips them over.
A lot of attention to detail went into this game. The way your opponents get knocked out depends on how you hit them and where they land. Once I uppercutted a guy and he landed on an iron bar with his crotch. His head slumped over and he sat there unconscious.
And did I mention there are weapons? They're a lot like the ones in the movie, but there's a little more of a variety. They sound just great, and the shock waves kick ass. The riot shotgun is probably the most fun. All you see of it is a big ripple in the air, and your target goes flying.
And when your enemies fall really far, it's really fun hearing them scream. "AAAAUUUUUUGGHHGH!", "OOH, NOOOOO!!!", and "AGH! I'M FAALLLLLIINNG!"

Playing this game has me reacting out loud a lot. Shouting out things like "Yeah!!", "Owwwch!!!!", "Ooooooh" and laughing a lot.
One of my friends rented the game once and didn't find much time to play it before he returned it. I wanted to show him how cool it was once you get to one of the later levels, where you've (hopefully) mastered all of your moves and have plenty of targets to worry about. So I put a tape into my VCR and started recording myself playing it.
The first couple of times weren't so good. I guess the fact that I was taping sort of took some of the concentration off. But then I played one of the coolest games I'd ever played.
I wish I could show everyone the tape. At one point, I uppercutted a cop and shot him in mid-air with the shotgun. One cop threw a punch at me and hit one of his friends. And for an excellent finale, I died while I was fighting two guys. All three of us were down to a sliver on our health meters. I grabbed one off of the floor, and did a backwards throw over my shoulder which would cause him to land on his head. Just as I did so, the other guy came up from behind and whacked me with his baton. When you die, it shows you land in slow motion, so I got a nice slow-mo shot of me falling while the guy I threw lands on the other guy and all three of us collapse into a big heap.

In the words of Comic Guy: Best death ever.

I played Spider-Man today. It just doesn't feel the same anymore.
