Here's my two cents opinion
I've unfortunately seen most of the films that came out this summer... from The Hulk to SWAT, without missing out on Pirates of the carribean of course (which is according to me the only one of these films to have kept its dignity). What has happened to movies? When it's not terrible plot writing it's even worse acting. When it's not overused special effects it's lack of effort into making a decent movie... And that's all I'm asking for. Yet that seems incredibly difficult to make these days. The more I see Hollywood movies, the more I like anime and japanese films... It's for the best I think.
And Yet I go see those crappy movies one after the other... what is wrong with me?

Anyways, all this is is severe lack of talent... It's pretty well known that you don't have to be a genius to make a few million bucks, just have a decent gimmick and know someone in the business...
Personally, I feel like it's not just movies, but stuff like video games and TV in general (Especially the new "EXTREME" brand of advertising) has just been dropping in quality at incredible rates...

At least I still have video games, anime and the Internet...
...'cause everything ELSE I used to love is going down the crapper!

| Well, I didnt think ALL of the movies where total crap. I liked Bad Boys 2, and thought Johnny English was pretty funny also. But other then that, most of the other movies I saw were utter crap *cough*tombraider*cough*
