In the dark of the night,
well, it happened. my comp is finally dead. i can hardly log on for 30 minutes before it shuts down. And just in time for warcraft three expansion. god damn spyware. does anyone know how to get rid of that? doing this at school, so im gonna try to get some help from resident computer geek. later

Probably your best bet, IMO. Of course, this does mean you lose everything on your hard drive, so taking other action just to avoid blowing everything up for no reason is probably reccomended.
Take a fun dive into your registry (run "regedit") and see what spyware is installed in there, and see if you can uninstall it...

Adaware also helps. It didn't rid me of my connection problem (Logging on from a friend's computer now) but it did find hundreds of annoying little things to get rid of for me.
