Here's your button code.

<?php
echo "<form action=\"{$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}\" method=\"post\">\n";
echo "<input type=\"submit\" value=\"whatever text you want here\" />\n";
echo "</form>\n";
?>

It's not really necessary to split it into multiple echo statements, but it's more understandable. You could also just make a link that goes to that same page and it would have the same effect.

Actually, you don't even need that in a php block if you're not planning on changing the address or anything. Just put it as regular html with the form action as "randomvg.php".

Well, I had to learn them in 2 days, while studying for the math midterm :P

And hyena, go for it, sounds like a great idea!

And once you've got that covered, learn how to create pictures in PHP, and make random box art (background, random character on the left, random character on the right, and the title at the top)

I can tell you the functions you need for that :P

Quoting That PHP Thing:

Latest Release: Bride Tycoon

I would definitely play this game.

And I really like the title/synopsis idea.
It sounds like a hell of a lot of work, though.

EDIT:

Quoting kiwibonga:

Pretty busy week, about 30 chinese characters...

I've been thinking about expanding the script and making a page that not only generates a title, but gives a brief description of the game. It would take a lot of effort, though.

I'm thinking, first it generates the title, then it picks a genre depending on certain keywords. Finally it picks a few sentences randomly from a list of "features", adding random factors to each one.

Here's an example of what one would look like. (Randomized parts appear in square brackets)

Title: Doom Patrol: Journey to the Ice Palace

Genre: Gun Game

Features:
- Over [6] [unoriginal] levels, plus the final Ice Palace stage.
- A wide range of weaponry including the [double-barreled machine gun] and the [dreaded] [hot glue gun with a laser sight].
- Fight [legions] of [inept] [zombies], all wearing [sunglasses] so you can tell them apart from civilians.

What do you think? Should I shoot for it?

Silver Edition.

If it sold a lot of copes, would it be called Silver Edition: Gold Edition?

And another - Americon Professional Lawn Mowing: Useless Quest.

Also - Super Nietzsche Universe: Nobody Is High on Jesus

Okay, just fixed a minor bug.

It was giving games subtitles when not appropriate. As a rule, the sim/tycoon games (Like Virtual Deathcamp) and sports games are not supposed to have a subtitle. Also, subtitles were only supposed to be in 50% of the names, and they were coming up too often.

This is now fixed.

Edit: I just generated "Jet-Powered Hockey". Yeah!

Yeah sorry about that I've spent the past 3 days studying, eating and sleeping... Pretty busy week, about 30 chinese characters and a discrete math midterm yesterday :P

All I need from your friend is a username and a password and we'll be all set... I'll email him.
