Quoting Yoshi Dude:

"I didn't like how the big sword fight in the first movie was completely unrealistic"

I did. Everyone goes realistic, so I guess Quentin decided to go over-the-top bloody and shit. I loved it. It was a nice change. Of course people don't bleed that much, why does everyone feel the need to point it out? Who says this movie is realistic? If I wanted a long pointless story about reality, I've got my life.

Three words: "Suspension of disbelief"
Movies are more fun for me if I can believe I'm there.
When the Bride takes out every one of the crazy 88s with insane ease, lopping off limbs as if they're nothing, I can buy that. After all, she's one of the best, and the sword is THE sword.
The blood spraying out at ten times the normal amount just makes you stop and say, "that's not right"

I personally prefered the fight at the beginning of the movie, which seemed very real to me. I find a lot of fight scenes in movies tend to downplay the fact that people are actually trying to kill each other. Everyone does these perfectly timed martial arts manoeuvers, as if it's something they've been rehearsing. Fights are chaotic and unpredictable, and I think the first fight scene of Vol.1 showed that.
They throw things at each other, tip bookshelves over, try to stab them through a table, and soon they're bloody and swinging knives at each other on a pile of broken glass. (Punisher was extremely good this way too)

I think people have a tendency to disassociate themselves from movies, but I think it's more fun if you act as if it's really happening. Hence, if it's realistic, it's better.
Comedies are a different matter, though. As long as it's funny, I don't care how unrealistic it is. (Often, unrealistic is better)

Well..leave it to me to be way behind as it relates to the popular movies, but...I figured I'd add my two cents.

[Dur spoilers]

1] I liked all the stuff with Budd, especially the scene with him at the strip club. It managed to set up his character a bit more, and made me actually care when Elle took him out. And then when Black Mamba found that he still had his Hanzo sword...well, it just wouldn't have meant anything without the scene at the strip bar, if you ask me.

2] I really liked the whole..ending sequence, from Bill and the Superman analogy to the exploding heart technique. Sure, the fight could have been a little bit longer, but...come on. David Carradine is like seven hundred years old. There's no way Uma could carry him through some epic fight scene.

And then...some random thoughts:
1] It was a good thing the Elle/Mamba fight ended so quickly...after all, there's no way they could pull off a lot of swordplay in that cramped little trailer.
2] Jesus...Pai Mei was cool. I couldn't help but grin every time he stroked that beard of his. What a great character.

Hm...I guess that's it.
God, I'm so bad at posting in this forum.

-spoilers if you haven't figured it out. asshole.-

Budd was the most irritating character, and that scene with him at his job dragged on and added almost nothing.

Other than that, and Bill talking a lot (which wasn't so bad, I stared at Uma. hoo ha), the movie kicked ass. :D The fighting was lamer than the first volume.. but Pei Mei owned ass. And the fight with Elle was like, my favorite scene in both volumes. Or my second favorite.

"2. Elle poisons Budd with a snake. Not really a fight. He just gets bitten and lies on the ground. Cool scene, actually. I shouldn't complain. "

When that happened, jerks at my theater (a lot of younger kids) kept asking "DID HE GET BIT? DID HE GET BIT?" no, he's dancing on the floor. shut up and die. They ruined a lot of the movie for me with dumbass questions like that. >_<

I kind of liked it, but it dragged quite a bit. I'm not saying it was long--I usually have no problems with long movies--the plot just doesn't move forward very fast. Pai Mae was cool (yes, he was an ass but that's what made him cool). All in all, I wasn't overly happy with it. Not to say I hated it, I thought it was pretty good, it just wasn't the same as Vol.1.
I think my biggest disappointment was the fighting. There's four fight scenes and they all last a few seconds long.

(HUGE SPOILERS HUGE SPOILERS HUGE SPOILERS HUGE SPOILERS HUGE SPOILERS HUGE SPOILERS)
(I PRETTY MUCH GIVE AWAY THE ENDING HERE, DON'T READ AT ALL IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT)
1. Black Mamba tries to sneak up on Budd and gets shot. Some nice suspense leading to the fight, then the fight lasts about a second and a half.
2. Elle poisons Budd with a snake. Not really a fight. He just gets bitten and lies on the ground. Cool scene, actually. I shouldn't complain.
3. Black Mamba gets in a fist fight with Elle that lasts a minute or two, then they both get their swords out. At this point you're thinking, "This is where the real fight begins" then Elle gets her eye ripped out and the fight's over. (Really nice climax, but not much of a fight scene)
4. Black Mamba tracks down Bill finally and they talk for about an hour of movie-time and finally get into a sword fight in which they pretty much pull out their swords and then she kills him with her pressure point thing. Uh, yeah.

I didn't like how the big sword fight in the first movie was completely unrealistic, but #2 practically doesn't have any fight scenes.

hey slumlords, im back, bringing tidings of Volume 2. I actually like it, the dialouge was thought provoking, Pai Mae was an ass, and that elle chick got what she deserved: her eye pulled out. want me to ruin the ending? O-kay! At the End, Censored kills Censored with Censored over Censored. there you go! oh, right.
************* SPOILER WARNING******************************
