01/09/2004 11:59:50AM | Yeh, all region gba cartridges are pretty much the same. I had a jap SF2Revival, Mario Kart and..well, the Jap mario kart had Mobile connectivity for..some japanese reason.
Stupid of me tho, being so impatient, made me pay way too much for a game that would be released in a month or two in my own country. Bleh. Also found out Jap gba games can multiplay with Eur cartridges. |
| +Kazuma 01/09/2004 03:22:26AM | hmm no nintendo, sigh gotta love ebay
id open it up and scan the board layout for fun but i misplaced both my tri blade screw drivers |
01/09/2004 03:19:52AM | Quoting Kazuma: I also have what appears to be a knock off jap cartridge, slightly different color plastic, different looking font on the back and one of those goo dot ICs rather than a surface mount dip package Look inside the bottom of the cartridge to tell if it's genuine. If it's real, you see an Nintendo logo in the middle above the connectors. |
| +Kazuma 01/09/2004 03:06:26AM | EU games just tend to come with ungodly huge manuals, my aria of sorrow and a couple other gba games are european and i have a jap copy of breath of fire 2.
I also have what appears to be a knock off jap cartridge, slightly different color plastic, different looking font on the back and one of those goo dot ICs rather than a surface mount dip package so yes eu games will work, the only real difference will be some possible localization changes (6 languages etc etc) |
01/08/2004 11:42:47PM | Nope, they're the same thing. GBA does not have any regional lockout, so you will be able to run NTSC and PAL games (Do they classify GBA games into those categories? Well, then North American and European games then.) equally as well. |
| Suppo 01/08/2004 08:25:45PM | I'm not sure it would run. but then again maybe because I remember that the first game boy could play american and european games and since the gba plays gameboy games then technically you should be able to play them. But that is not a fact, just a thought. |
01/08/2004 05:36:20PM | Is there any difference between games released in North America and games released in Europe?
If I were to go on ebay and buy a game that was released in Europe only, would it still run fine on my GBA? |
