06/30/2003 03:55:21AM | I'm going to start a new thread. |
| Suppo 06/28/2003 03:00:08AM | I just got back from seeing it and I don't want to spoil anyone's fun but I must say that I was disappointed by the movie. It was good and I don't regret seeing it at all but I expected something else. It's really slow and the action takes a while to start and even then, the action sequences are too far apart. The CGI work was really impressive on the other hand. The Hulk really looked real. It just left me waiting for something more. |
06/26/2003 04:13:13PM | Quoting DCB: Considering how the movie went, the inclusion of "Hulk smash!" would indeed be stupid, but then again it just isn't quite the Hulk without it. My point exactly. |
| DCB 06/26/2003 08:38:55AM | I felt like I was watching a 2 1/2 hour long music video with no music. Not that I'm complaining; like everyone else here I enjoyed the crazy camera workings. I hadn't eaten all day when I watched it, so I was left pretty confused by the whole deal with David Banner (me not being much of a comic book reader also factors into that). But hey, the movie took place mostly in the Bay Area, so bonus points there (*LOCAL BIAS WARNING*). I could've been an extra!

I'm inclined to agree. Anyway, The Hulk was very cool. The only parts I didn't like were when that annoying guy *SPOILER! SPOILER! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED* fired an explosive that bounced off him, effectively blowing himself up. That was kind of corny and anti-climactic enough, but then they did a big freeze frame with a scared look on his face and tried to make it look 2-dimensional like a comic panel. I didn't think it worked. *SPOILER COMPLETED. ENJOY THE REST OF THIS POST* I did like the camera angles a lot, though. The Hulk leaping across the desert in three cameras at once not only recreated the feel of the comic, but also created an awesome effect. The action was great, and possibly the greatest thing is how the movie makes you side with the Hulk, despite the fact that he's a big dumb strong angry green guy made entirely out of CGI. Making that likeable is a difficult feat and they couldn't have done a better job. |
06/21/2003 11:25:14PM | Yeah, it was a pretty good movie. The multiple angle camera views were pretty cool. Although, I was a bit disappointed at the complete absence of the words "Hulk Smash." |
| Angel of Doom 06/21/2003 06:23:20AM | god, that was a good movie. see it on the basis that it has some of the most innovative camera effects ever. even the un-hulk parts are worth watching, the story is that good. but when he does get hulk-a-fied (hulk-a-something is my favorite adjective) it turns absolutley insane, and funny.
in the name of all that is good, holy, evil, and blasphemous, you must see this movie!!! |
