On a lighter note,

WELCOME TO KIWIBONGA ADVANCE

I'll let the other, more experianced users do the rest. The greeting messeges, even.

The Justin Bailey code is not the official way to get the suitless Samus without actually beating the game, it simply was the result of some person slaming in what is most likely his name into the password thing and it worked and it just luckilly picked the value for the suitless Samus mode. The guy was most likely the first to submit it to a popular thing like Nintendo Power and that is how it became famous I guess.

Seeing as it's for SUPER NINTENDO and the hack was released several YEARS before Zero mission, I'd say no.

I wonder if I did that on purpose.. See the reason it takes so damn long to submit a post is because the script runs through all threads and updates date entries...

I have failed.

Quoting kiwibonga:

Any idea why this thread is at the top of general chat, even though it's from november 2002 >_>

If I had to wager a guess...
I'd say it's because someone replied to the thread and then realized how old it was, so he deleted his message. When he posted his message, it bumped the thread to the top of the page...and deleting the message only erases what he posted. It doesn't drop the thread back down the page.

Simple, really.

If by flamewar, you mean "nobody paying attention to what anybody else is saying, and stabbing blindly forward with conversation anyway," then you're probably right.

Dude, Hyena. I WAS talking about SUPAH Metroid. :D

There was no Justin Baily thing in there, so fans made a hack to patch it and play with Samus Unleashed.

.....People always ignore me. c_c;

I do know the the NES version was pretty much hard with Samus without powersuit, since without it you are pretty much toast.

EDIT: http://markvega.cuddlecoon.com/stuffs/justinbailey/

Please ignore the faggy Site name. Please.

First, the Justin Bailey isn't a hack. It's a password for after you've already beaten the game with the good ending. I mentioned earlier in a post that you can play the game again as scantily-clad Samus.

And the breaking out of the suit is only in Super Metroid, unless it's in the new games . . . .

The Metroid Database site has a Justin Bailey hack for the Super Metroid rom. In it, you play a rather well drawn but sometimes not proportional Samus in Spacy Jump suit! It's odd tho when she just walks into the lava when hte Gravity Suit only covers her torso..... o.O

BTW, when she dies, she breaks out of her body to become the blond Samus we all know and want to have cyberchilderen with.

DCB: Metroid 1 has three endings. One is the space suit, one's a leotard (or whatever), the third is a bikini.

I guess it's more of a leotard when you actually play through again, though.

There's a site somewhere where a guy hacked the metroid password system and created a program to generate a password for you when you enter in different parameters.
I made myself a password with all energy tanks, all missiles, kraid and ridley defeated, ice beam, and all the powerups. I set the time to 0 seconds, and it starts right by Mother Brain.
Kill the brain, escape, and you get the best ending.

The first game didn't exactly feature Samus in a swimsuit; it was more like a leotard. The second game definitely had a bikini, but the third is....who cares, she looked hot in that one.

Metroid Prime is out today! And I would've came home with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids and their dog Electronics Boutique telling me that they'll have it "later today". Oh well, it's only a few hours more before I start throwing my semester away.

Actually, every Metroid game has a bikini ending. In fact, if you beat the first Metroid fast enough, you can play the game over again as Samus in a swimsuit.

It makes no sense though. Where does she put all those energy tanks? How does she breathe?

My favorite games are the Megaman series. And, YES, i am easily pleased.

But since I played Metroid 2 on the gameBoy, I knew I had to let Rockman make room cause there'sa new blaster in town.

It was the first game I ever played where there were no levels, just one big freaky adventure. The way Samus was animated, left and right had their own frames instead of swapped ones, the save feature, the way to extend life, the manner to improve your skills and weapons...

Yeah, I played this before I even touched a Zelda game. :D

I was pretty much hooked, and playing Super Metroid was a blast, since I saw the Ending of Metroid 2 replayed in 16 bit......

Maybe one day, I'll have the patience to play Metroid on the NES.......

Pornhound, if you can believe this, told me that he hated Super Metroid because:

A. He can't figure out where to go.
B. He thinks it's stupid that this alien civilization leaves all of its artifacts and weapons lying around (which is entirely unlike every other game ever made, right?)

The other guy I was chatting with said he hated Super Metroid because it was over-hyped.

Actually, I never heard any hype about it when I played it. A friend lent it to me, and that was the first I heard really anything about it (besides maybe a few commercials or pictures in magazines, etc). And when I played it the first time, I replayed it more than 20 times before I would give it back.

It was long careful consideration before I made Super Metroid my favourite game of all time.

People would hate Metroid either cause it's dismissed simply as being 2D, or because of it's thoughness/longetivity.

How naive can you get?

Yeah, if we tried to start a Metroid flamewar here, it'd be useless without the people from the old board that actually disliked Metroid.

I mean fuck, I can't even PRETEND to hate the Metroid games, especially when I think Super Metroid was probably the best SNES game ever.

It wasn't really a flamewar. It was more like a two-man hissy fit.

Of course I did say one nasty thing when the "flamewar" was revived but I was reprimanded by one of the mods for picking a fight.

I think that's as close as we come to a flamewar. However, if it makes you feel better;

You're a steaming hybrid pile of monkey and rat feces.

I posted a link to the latest penny arcade comic about the guy who went out with Samus.

The guy got all sarcastic, basically saying it wasn't funny at all.

I said I didn't care if it wasn't funny. It's metroid.

He says Metroid sucks.

I have to confess I took that like a punch in the stomache if not simultanesouly a kick to the eyeballs and triple castration.
