| Doc Funky 05/13/2003 07:25:22PM | Quoting Hyena: And the part where you actually did mention the movie itself (now that I look it over a third time) I thought was part of your signature. Damn, signatures are confusing here. You do realize that a person's signature is separated from the text of the post by a bunch of dashes, right...? TrYiNg t0 CoNfUsE j00 |
| Yuka Takeuchi Fan 05/13/2003 07:23:07PM | Quoting Hyena: Damn, signatures are confusing here. That's why I just stick to a stupid phrase and a questionable link banner. |
05/13/2003 02:50:27PM | What do you mean "I guess you didn't"
I did read the thread. I didn't get that you were referencing a song. And the part where you actually did mention the movie itself (now that I look it over a third time) I thought was part of your signature. Damn, signatures are confusing here. |
| DCB 05/13/2003 06:50:51AM | It's what we do best here at Kiwibonga.com; be proud. |
| Angel of Doom 05/13/2003 05:33:50AM | hooray. another thread destroyed by off topic banter and endless debates over mindless details. oh well. at least were consistent. |
| DCB 05/13/2003 05:21:23AM | Keanu Reeves as Gambit? Then what Doc Funky said would actually be true. How that guy managed to not ruin The Matrix I'll never figure out.
Quoting Hyena: I did read the post. It was a bunch of meaningless stuff in allcaps. So I guess you didn't. I was referencing a song by this guy (you guys remember him, right?) then went on to talk about how I loved the movie, hoping to spark a discussion. Apparently the discussion is here now, so my thread is now useless. |
05/13/2003 04:29:56AM | Heh. |
| Vitriolic 05/13/2003 01:23:37AM | Wasn't the rumor from a year ago that they wanted Keanu Reeves to be Gambit?
Apparently, it didn't come true, but it must have been attempted, since everything on the internet is true 100% of the time. |
05/12/2003 06:09:54PM | Quoting DCB: Maybe people should read the posts within the thread and not just the title? I could be wrong here. I did read the post. It was a bunch of meaningless stuff in allcaps. As for Gambit, he's cool, but I'm not exactly outraged about him not being in the movie. They have enough characters to work with. And as far as the cartoon series went, I remember Wolverine was only interested in Jean. Gambit was interested in Rogue, but she didn't really like him that much and couldn't get close to him without killing him anyway. Of course, I'm sure the cartoon series took many liberties itself. Oh well. Hooray for confusion. Oh, and if you look closely in X2, one of the computer screens has a list of registered mutants (or something like that) and you can clearly see the name Remy LaBeau. |
| Doc Funky 05/12/2003 03:11:33AM | Man...they left Gambit out for one reason:
Gambit sucks. I just about pissed myself seeing Beast in X2, though. I was afraid he'd never show up. |
| DCB 05/12/2003 02:57:46AM | Quoting Hyena: Uh, your thread said "LETS ALL GO SEE X2". I think the reason no one replied is because the topic seemed to be the process of going to see the movie, and not the movie itself. There's not much to say about "I want to see it" or "I will see it" Maybe people should read the posts within the thread and not just the title? I could be wrong here. Of course there's gonna be a three. This movie's making a profit, isn't it? Plus it's a great movie and many important characters (like Gambit) haven't had a chance to show up yet. |
| Suppo 05/11/2003 09:07:57PM | they seem to have left the character of Gmabit out of the movies. I believe it's because of the love circle going on with Jean, Wolverine, Rogue and cyclops. Because, if I remember correctly, in the comics, Wolverine has a thing for Rogue and she's kinda with Gambit. Which (obviously) is not the case in the movies. I have a question though...
Is there gonna be a three? |
05/11/2003 06:46:52PM | What disappointed me the most about the first one was that Gambit wasn't there! I looked at the cast list for this one and apparently he's still not here...
I'll probably go see it no matter what... |
05/11/2003 06:41:57PM | Quoting DCB: Getting back to this thread's original title: am I the only one who saw X2? I made a thread about it in the movie forum and no replies yet. Uh, your thread said "LETS ALL GO SEE X2". I think the reason no one replied is because the topic seemed to be the process of going to see the movie, and not the movie itself. | Doc Funky 05/10/2003 06:48:23PM | I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was cool...like Suppo, a few things bothered me about it, but I can understand why they left those things out of the movie. |
| Suppo 05/10/2003 05:31:40PM | I've seen it, it rocks, a few things bothered me though, but they're details of conversion from Comic to Film rather than real flaws and criticisms. |
| DCB 05/10/2003 07:12:56AM | Getting back to this thread's original title: am I the only one who saw X2? I made a thread about it in the movie forum and no replies yet. |
| Angel of Doom 05/07/2003 05:17:48AM | yep. |
05/07/2003 05:11:20AM | Why is the debate insane? Because everyone more or less agrees and there's no objective viewpoint to challenge? |
| Angel of Doom 05/07/2003 04:52:27AM | wow. just debating the title makes this thread worthwhile. unfortunetly, the wrestling debate is kinda insane. oh well, not as if i had anything better to do. |
| Doc Funky 05/07/2003 01:27:43AM | Hmm...I'd say that "Deceptive X2-related adulatory proclamations" would work...since he'd be proclaiming his adulation of X2 if it was really X2 gush time, which it turned out not to be.
Yeah, baby. |
05/06/2003 05:55:17PM | Whats a better word then? I meant proclimation because Hyena made it look like he would be fawning over X2...
Hyena: Thats what I mean. If you could do half of the crazy things they do in that game, I wouldnt stop watching. |
| Doc Funky 05/06/2003 05:22:11PM | Dear Chaos:
Main Entry: proc·la·ma·tion Function: noun 1 : the action of proclaiming : the state of being proclaimed 2 : something proclaimed; specifically : an official formal public announcement Sorry, it's just been bugging me lately...I knew proclimation looked wrong. |
| Suppo 05/06/2003 03:27:06PM | that's why I play Amped...
Maybe they could have the audience get more involved.. I mean they already throw each other in the audience, how about letting the audience participate a little? |
05/06/2003 02:59:16PM | Chaos: Heh at the title change.
Yes, some insane stunts could make wrestling very interesting. I'd like to see it more fast-paced and varied, myself. All of the wrestling I've seen is one guy doing these rediculous over-the-head punches and the other guy acting like he's lost all feeling in his face, then a shove that somehow causes the opponent to continually run until he hits the ropes, then turn and run backwards right into the first guy's dropkick. On the other hand, I think that SSX Tricky is the most stupid video game I've ever seen. I watched a demo of it in a store. The stunts all look really cheesy and nowhere near plausible. |
| Vitriolic 05/06/2003 02:49:41AM | I dunno. I'd go back to watching wrestling if they made it more video-game like. When a wrestler uses a finishing move, huge lights would flash everywhere, causing most of the audience to convolse into seizures, and the wrestlers would call out all their wrestling moves, which would be pronounced as if they were being read off a Japanese cuecard (ROCKU BOTOOMUU!! PEDAAAGREEEU! BUSTAAH WOOOF!)
|
05/06/2003 02:14:56AM | Yeah, but that would get boring after awhile. But I could be wrong. If some of those crazy impossilbe stunts could be done in real life, it would get my full support. The same goes for snowboarding and SSX Tricky. |
| Yuka Takeuchi Fan 05/06/2003 01:30:51AM | Y'know how to make wrestling really cool? Just do it like the video games- just put the people in there and let the fists fly. No storylines or nothing, just people beating the crap out of each other. I wanna see some severe damage dealt in there and nothin' else! That's all I ask.
I say so what if this message was pointless and insipid, that's me for ya! |
05/05/2003 11:52:41PM | your wish has been granted sir. |
| DCB 05/05/2003 11:44:04PM | It also happens to be my birthday. :P
I'm surprised the title of this thread hasn't changed yet, like other similar threads before it. |
